The Club hosted the 2nd round gala of the Moonraker Winter League, which strangely was held at Corsham swimming pool, on Saturday 14th January. The squad, helpers & officials and supporters should be congratulated for keeping their ‘cool’ after waiting outside in freezing conditions until we were finally allowed in! The warm-up was therefore really welcomed and the swimmers were fired up and got off to a good start by winning in the first event.
The squad gave many fine performances with a few of the swimmers competing in their first Winter League gala. The other teams were Swindon ASC, Trowbridge C and Swindon Dolphins C who all performed well but we managed a well-earned win overall on the night. "To the victor belong the spoils" is a famous quote and as is traditional after winning a gala, the Warminster squad had a bag of chips each on the way home.
